Brief Description:

John Monash Scholarships invest in outstanding Australians from all fields of endeavor who demonstrate remarkable qualities of leadership and have the ability to deliver outcomes and inspire others for the benefit of Australia. The Scholarship offers recipients the opportunity to undertake a masters or PhD in any field at any world-leading institution overseas to help them to develop their international networks, research capacity and leadership skills to bring back knowledge and expertise that will help build Australia's capabilities for the future.

A limited number of postgraduate Scholarships are available each year, each valued at AUD $70,000 per year for a maximum of three years (up to AUD $210,000). Please note, the length of funding years is measured by the length of your proposed postgraduate degree at a full-time study mode.

Applications open on the 1st of May and close on 14^th July at 11.59pm after which your application will be forwarded to our review panels. Please ensure your referees have submitted their reports before applications close or your application can not be forwarded to our review panels. Core Selection Criteria:
Excellence – This may been evidenced through a university degree obtained with outstanding results, but can also be demonstrated through prizes, awards, publications, performance, exhibitions, enterprises and excellence in professional endeavours;
Leadership – Candidates should demonstrate leadership experience or potential in the field of study, professional environment and/or the community.
Research project or study program – a well-developed case for support for the candidate’s need to study at the best overseas university in their field. It is not necessary to have been accepted at the institution at the time of applying for the Scholarship;
Proposed career pathway– Candidates must present a career trajectory, addressing how they will contribute to and benefit Australia

Candidates are also required to submit 3 references with their application: references should outline the applicants abilities and endorsing their overall application - these may be any combination of academic, personal and professional, however the Foundation does not recommend submitting 3 personal references.
